I had really hoped the best for Britney Spears. This past year or so has been pretty bad for her.. from a, what seemed to be, complete mental breakdown, to pretty much losing her kids, the countless crotch shots, etc.
Then she seemed to be getting better with the help of her conservator father. Despite the past mistakes she made with her kids (driving with them on her lap!?), I decided to look past it and assume she could be a great mother since she seemed to be getting her shit together.
But this photo just makes me wonder what the fuck is going through her head.
I wont bash her for smoking. I’m a parent and I smoke. But you need to do it responsibly. I try not to ever smoke in front of my kids, and when I do, it’s always outdoors so they aren’t subjected to the smoke and I keep my distance from them. If they come close to me, I hold my cigarette up in the air so that the smoke isn’t traveling across them, and so they don’t accidentally get burnt.
This picture. What the fuck Britney. That cigarette appears to be a mere 6 inches from your kids face! Not only is that smoke probably being inhaled right into his lungs, there’s a huge risk there that you could probably burn him - if not his skin, he’s freakin’ eye!
Goddamn.

I was reading my daily feeds and found a link to a site with a database of cosmetic products and their “safety ratings”. The site offers up some pretty interesting information.. I searched for a few of the products I use daily such as Aveeno Skin Brightening Daily Scrub. It yielded a Moderate rating (6/10) for cancer, developmental/reproductive toxicities, etc. etc..
While it’s nice information to have.. am I really going to change my routine? Probably not. I love the way that stuff makes my skin look.
A while back, and shame on me for never putting 2+2 together, I noticed that suddenly, every time I tried to open the Network and Sharing Center in Windoze Vista, it would freeze. For a few minutes the window would sit there, blank, frozen.
I also noticed that the local area connection icon in my task tray always had a red X through it, and displayed the message “Connection status: unknown. Server execution > failed. ” when I would hover over it.
I disregarded it since my internet was indeed working. Just another buggy Vista issue, right?
Today at work is slow, and with no sites to work on and not much to do, I decided to give my computer a bit of TLC. A moment of Googling provided me with a much appreciated solution:
Open Start menu, in Seach box type the following and press Enter:
net localgroup Administrators LocalService /add
Uninstall teh shitty AIM, reboot, and enjoy your now functional Network and Sharing Center and the blinky goodness of your local area icon.
I honestly had forgotten I even had AIM installed. I used it once a while back, set it to not start when Windows does and forgot about it. It’s no wonder that a problem like this would be caused by none other than the lovely AOL and Windoze.
